Hartwig's work curated by the British Library

Hartwig's hand-drawn views of London, New York, Paris and Berlin are now curated by the British Library in its fascinating and ever growing collection of maps.

The Curator of Antiquarian Mapping at the British Library visited our gallery-shop at Greenwich in October 2010 and really enjoyed Hartwig's perspective on the city and mapping as a way to celebrate the urban. Following the visit he invited us to submit five of Hartwig's panoramic city views for curation at the British Library.

The five designs shown below, which are now part of the library's map collections are: London Looking North, London Looking East, New York, Paris Looking West and Berlin Looking East - all in full colour.
