Arty Globe on Dragon's Den 02-09-2009

Pitching to the Dragon's at the den has been a very interesting and rewarding experience.

Whilst they did not invest in us (and maybe that is actually a good thing) they did express their true appreciation of Hartwig's hand-drawn artwork.

Dragons Den 09.2009

We only started our journey at the end of 2008 and at the time of filming (April 2009) we did not yet have a strong enough track record to show so the Dragon's felt that our venture is possibly too small for them to get involved in and therefore kindly offered us their advice and turned down our offer for them to join in. Time will tell if this has been a wise decision for them - or not.

Dragons Den - Isaac & Hartwig

Our pitch was filmed on 28/04/2009 and only 4 weeks after opening our first ever shop at Greenwich so all we had to show was our sales track record from a weekend market stall trading for the previous 6 months.

4.5 months since the filming of this pitch and judging by the strong month-on-month growing level of sales plus the appreciation of Hartwig's work by locals and visitors - we are very confident that there is an excellent market demand for his work and our merchandise.

Dragons Den - Peter Jones

As well as having the shop at Greenwich and supplying the London Eye with a bespoke product range around Hartwig's work, we have just agreed a wholesale & distribution deal of our gifts and products in London and other cities around the world.

The British Museum just launched a beautiful range of products around one of Hartwig's designs (see news section) last week and very soon (September 2009) Hamleys of Regent Street will launch their 250th anniversary range which will include a fantastic range of products around a design hand-drawn exclusively by Hartwig for the 250th celebrations!

Dragons Den - Duncan

We have done work for Wandsworth council and for several local magazines and Hartwig's recent poster design has been selected to appear in an exhibition at the London Transport Museum during the London Design Festival this month. We signed a key license to reproduce Hartwig's elegant and graphical line work on fine bone china homeware which will be sold in up market department stores in the UK, France and Germany as well as in other countries around the world.

We are currently also working on other lucrative bespoke projects where Hartwig has been commissioned to do artwork for other famous landmarks in London and abroad including the opportunity do work for some of Europe's most famous Museums, Galleries and Heritage Sites...!

Dragons Den - Merchandise

So all in all the future currently seems to be quite exciting for us and as we obviously managed to get all of this done in such a short space of time (only one year) without the help of a "dragon" we have every reason to believe we will manage without one in the future...

Why not make up your own mind about Hartwig's work and our collection of high-quality gift ideas by visiting our gallery-shop at Greenwich market and telling us what you think of it all... It would be great to see you there!
